Cookies and analytics
On our public marketing pages we use Google Analytics, but only if you choose Allow analytics. Until you choose, the tool is not loaded and nothing is sent to Google.
We do not use this tool on the portal, sign-in and sign-up pages of this website.
This page covers analytics only. Signing in to the customer portal sets other cookies that keep you signed in; this page does not describe them.
What Google Analytics receives
- The address of the page you view, without any search terms or fragment.
- Which of our main buttons and links you select, such as Get started, the customer portal, sign up and sign in, and whether you select an email link or the contact section. The email address itself is not sent.
- On our governance tools: which tool you open, that a result was shown, which copy, download or print option you choose and whether you follow the link to a related service. The numbers, answers and results you enter or see in a tool are not sent.
- Automatic events switched on in our Google Analytics settings: when you scroll to near the end of a page, when you follow a link to another website, with that link's address, when you select a link to a document or file, with the file's name and address and when you play an embedded YouTube video, with its title and address. Automatic form and site-search events are switched off.
- Further data that Google's documentation lists for the automatic events of Google Analytics, such as the page title, language and screen size.
Depending on its settings, Google Analytics can record additional automatic events beyond those listed here.
Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses.
We ask Google Analytics not to use Google signals or ad personalization, and we do not grant advertising storage.
In our Google Analytics settings, event data linked to cookies or other identifiers is kept for 2 months, and user data for 2 months after a visitor's most recent activity. Google states that these settings do not affect most standard reports, which use aggregated data.
